Track Record For Undefeated Yoga Pants

It was a great day for Sportswriter offspring as the Battle of Waterloo was captured by one of his sons while in Alberta his three-year-old daughter Yoga Pants established a track record winning the $129,080 Lady Luck final.

With owner/breeder/trainer Jim Marino at the controls the went went gate to wire with splits of :28, :56.1, 1:25.1 and was first across in 1:54.1.

CardinalRule (Allamerican Navajo) as second followed by Outlaw Fireball (Blue Burner).

Today’s win made Yoga Pants five for five on the season and upped her three-year-old earnings to just over $133,000. Marino also campaigned her dam, the Northern Luck mare Lucks Pleasure, a winner of $230,000 in her career. Yoga Pants is her second foal.

The $152,410 Ralph Klein final went to Da Magician and trainer Serge Masse in 1:55 over Mateo (Blue Burner) and American Dreamer (American Ideal).

Masse also owns the winner, a three-year-old gelding by Dragon Again who is now 6-2-3 in 12 starts this year. He is the third foal from a sister to Holborn Hanover ($2.1 million); Hyperion Hanover ($1.2 million); Hillbilly Hanover ($951,000); etc.

The undercard at Century included three Century Bets Stakes for two-year-old pacing colts which were taken by Paradise Hill and Mike Hennessy in 1:56.3; Boiling Oar and Marino in 1:56.1 and Gonna Funku Up and Phil Giesbrecht in 1:59.1.

The two co-featured for the girls were taken by Pez Dispenser and JF Gange in 1:57.4 and Maid In Alberta and Masse in 1:58.1.
