Mister Muscle Grabs Dream Of Glory Final
Aug 5

Mister Muscle got up in the lane after a pocket trip to win the $71,400 Dream Of Glory final for 3-year-old trotters on Saturday night at Hanover Raceway in 1:58.3.

Driven by Bob McClure, Mister Muscle tracked Magic Night (Scott Young) through stations of :28, :58.4, and 1:28.3, then used a :29.3 final kicker to win by half a length. Scene A Magician (Jack Moiseyev) came in second but was placed back to third before Magic Night after the judges determined he had gone inside pylons after the start.

Trainer Mark Etsell also bred and co-owns Mister Muscle, a gelding by Muscle Mass, with partners Robert Newton and Chuan Tan. This was Mister Muscle's second win from nine starts this year and his third career victory. He has earned $63,783 in 2017 and $135,033 lifetime.

McClure, who started his career at Hanover Raceway and still counts the half-mile among his favourite places to drive, said the win had added meaning for both him and Etsell.

I was talking to Mark on the way here and hes had to scratch two favourites out of the final, McClure explained. And everybody wants to win the big ones, the Little Brown Jug, the Gold Cup and Saucer, but this was on my bucket list.
