Eagle Jolt On Top In PEI
May 18

Eagle Jolt, owned by Wilbur and Marie MacDonald, Orwell Cove, PEI, claimed the Thursday night feature in 1:58.2 at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Eagle Jolt held off late challenges from Oh To Be Me (Gary Chappell) and Simon Said (Corey MacPherson) to notch a grand-slam for trainer/driver Marc Campbell. Lifetime Ealge Jolt has $411,000 banked.

Campbell’s other scores came with New Boss In Town and Howmac Missy giving Earl Watts a training double while trotter Freddie earned his first win of the 2017 campaign.

In other action, driver Kenny Arsenault and trainer Jackie Matheson teamed up for two winners on the program when Shadows Mystery and Artners In Crime claimed top honors in their respective divisions.

The fastest mile of the night went to Elm Grove Kaboom in 1:57.3 for driver Earl Smith and owners Larry and Kathy Chappell, Marshfield, PEI.

Racing returns Saturday at 6pm. Red Shores Summerside kicks off the 2017 season Monday afternoon at 1 p.m.
