Takter Babies Shine, Possess The Will Returns

Jimmy Takter pupils took seven of the nine schooling races this morning at the Meadowlands including Wherethegirlsare’s 1:54.1 score while Possess The Will won his first 2012 start and Autumn Escapade was an open length winner in qualifying and baby race action at the New Jersey oval.

On the pacing side for Takter Wherethegirlsare scored by a nose for Yannick Gingras in 1:54.1 over Shebestingin (Bettors Delight). The third foal of Takter’s former champion Cabrini Hanover ($1.4 million) Wherethegirlsare is a daughter of Somebeachsomewhere owned by David Willmot and Clay Horner.

Also scoring in 1:54.1 was Rockin Amadeus, a Rocknroll Hanover son of the top pacing mare Kikikatie. It was the second schooling effort for the full brother to Time To Roll ($503,000), the runner-up in last weekend's NA Cup final. Both are owned by breeder Lothlorien of Cheltenham, Ontario.

Peaceful EZ Feeling, the second foal from the $3.2 million winner Peaceful Way, was victorious in 2:00.4 for Takter. It was the second winning rookie event for the Muscles Yankee daughter owned by Angie Stiller, Al Libfeld, Sam Goldband and Marvin Katz of Ontario and Linda Worrell, Pa.

Also winning for the second straight week from the Takter barn was Dontyouforgetit, a Cantab Hall son who turned in a 1:58.2 performance. Yannick Gingras was up behind the third foal of $930,000 winner Solveig for owner/breeder Solveigs Breeders, N.J.

Stablemate Morning Star, a Cantab Hall filly from the $2.1 million winner Passionate Glide, gave Takter a five length 2:00.4 ride in her test. It was the second baby race appearance for the filly owned by breeders Brittany Farms.

In addition to the baby races this morning, there were four regular qualifying races with Autumn Escapade taking the first by 41 lengths in 1:55.2. A winner of $309,584 last year at six for owners David and Misty Miller of New Jersey, the seven-year-old daughter of Victory Sam has yet to race this year.


Possess The Will (New Image Media)

Hambletonian contender Possess The Will made his first 2012 appearance this morning capturing his test for Tim Tetrick in 1:54.2. Jim Campbell trains the son of Donato Hanover for Fashion Farms. Possess The Will was the Dan Patch winner in his category last season winning seven of 12 for $551,000.

Shakerattlenrock, a winner of $123,000 last year at two, captured his test in 1:53.4 for Tetrick. The Rocknroll Hanover colt owned by trainer Bob Horowitz and Fabulous Farms has yet to make a start in 2012. He had been entered in a NJSS lats month but was scratched.
