Park Avenue Pounces In Saratoga's Mares Open
Jul 29

Park Avenue rallied from sixth to first in the final quarter, winning the $16,500 fillies and mares open pace on Thursday night at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway in 1:55.

With Jordan Derue driving, Park Avenue got away in seventh while Slomotion (Billy Dobson) fronted the field of eight through fractions of :27.1, :56.2, and 1:25.3.

Park Avenue was three-wide and three and a half lengths behind Slomotion at three-quarters, but a :28.4 final kicker propelled Park Avenue to a one and a quarter length victory. Pebble Run (Jim Devaux) also rallied sharply in the stretch to get second while Slomotion had to settle for third.

Amber Buter trains Park Avenue, a five-year-old Keystone Raider mare, for owners Lynette Buter, Tyler Buter, and Eugene Oldford. Park Avenue picked up her sixth win from 21 2010 efforts and her 28th career triumph. She has now earned $65,955 in 2010 and $270,919 lifetime.
